I'm a recent convert (last year) to shaving my penis and ball sack. I use the pop-up trimmer on my electric razor; it doesn't give a super-close shave, but I like the feel of being far less hairy. I'm divorced and in my early 70s, so I've not had a woman enjoy my new tidiness yet. One day soon, I hope.

I started shaving as a kid after seeing how good a guys smooth penis looked in a movie. My dad didn’t shave at the time soak asked my mom. She was really open about sex growing up and not modest about her body, she wasn’t ready for me to ask her about her vagina and why it isn’t hairy. She asked me why I started noticing her pubic hair I explained and I saw a bald penis I’ve also told her I saw women hairy and hairless vaginas in movies. She explained waxing and shaving. She told me I didn’t need to worry about it yet however. I took a shower in my moms bathroom and found a pink razor with lotions along side what I latter realized was a tiny pink vibrater. I shaved everything but accidentally cut my shaft. I bleed a little bit on the razor then rushed to my room and covered my cut with underwear. My mom latter asked what happened and I came clean. She told me next time let to let her know how important something like this is to me. She made me take my underwear off and sat me on a her bed. then got rubbing alcohol ointment and bandages. She grabbed my penis and fixed me up, I pretended not to enjoy it.
